Wakefield High School become “Champions” for Blood Bikers…

A West Yorkshire School has received an award from Volunteer Blood Bikers after raising money through Non-Uniform days during the school year.
Students from Kettlethorpe High School in Wakefield donated £1200 pounds to support the Yorkshire Blood Bike charity.

Whiteknights’ West Yorkshire Regional Manager, Matthew Butterfield, said at the award presentation: “We hugely appreciate this donation to support the overnight and weekend, urgent transportation service we provide, free-of-charge to the NHS. In recognition of their giving, the School has officially become a “Whiteknights’ Champion.”

Kettlethorpe High School, Head Teacher, Mr Griffiths, accepted the award on behalf of the school. “It’s been a real surprise, I’m sure the students will realise they’ve done something to make a difference to their local community and play their part to support the NHS. They recognise the valuable work of Whiteknights’ Volunteers across the region at the time when most people are asleep.”
